BAGBY AIRFIELD

This report contains a request from the Planning Committee for additional funding in connection with potential enforcement action at Bagby Airfield, near Thirsk.

In accepting the recommendation, Cabinet will approve up to ?34,550 from the Service Improvement Reserve for enforcement matters at Bagby Airfield, Bagby.

GRANTS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

The report seeks approval in principle to develop a scheme to encourage local economic growth through the provision of grants to the small and medium sized business sector in Hambleton. This will be facilitated through the provision of ?100,000 as a one-off revenue fund for the scheme financed through the Service Improvement Reserve.

In accepting the recommendation, Cabinet will support the principle of the development of the grants scheme and commit of a one-off fund of ?100,000 from the Service Improvement Reserve.

TRAVELLER HOUSING NEEDS STUDY

This report considers the findings of the recently published Traveller Housing Needs Study (September 2012) commissioned by the Council in May 2012 and how to respond in terms of appropriate Council action.

In accepting the recommendations, Council will be asked to investigate the suitability and feasibility of extending the two public sites with residents, partners and landowners, including the financial arrangements; or discuss with partners the potential for providing a new public site with Government funding, if it proves inappropriate to extend the existing public sites; and identify and assess options for private sites, through a call for available sites.

EXCLUSION OF THE PUBLIC AND PRESS - To consider passing a resolution under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 excluding the press and public from the meeting during consideration of item 8 on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act.

OFFICE ACCOMMODATION AT THE CIVIC CENTRE

This report asks Cabinet to approve a proposal to licence part of the Civic Centre for use as office accommodation by another organisation.

In accepting the recommendation, Council will be asked to agree to the arrangements as set out in the report.
