This report seeks consideration of various issues regarding the Northallerton Sports Villge.  A key component of the North Northallerton development is the concept of a sports village which would provide new opportunities for both formal organised sport and informal unsupervised recreation.  A number of meetings have been held in recent years with sports clubs from Northallerton, Romanby and Brompton to explore development plans.  The concept plan attached at Annex A has arisen from these meetings.

In accepting the recommendations, Cabinet will approve the concept plan for public consultation, subject to the consultation a planning application will be submitted and that a funding and delivery plan be drawn up.

The subject of the decision:

Cabinet was satisfied that the concept plan would assist in delivering a key component of the North Northallerton Development Plan.

THE DECISION:

That Cabinet approves:-

(1)        the concept plan as suitable for public consultation;

(2)        subject to (a) above, that a planning application be submitted; and

(3)        a funding and delivery plan be drawn up.
