Draft Hambleton Economic Strategy 2014-2024 PDF 231 KB This report presents the Draft Hambleton Economic Strategy and Investment Plan 2014-2024, attached as Annex A to the report, and seeks approval for external consultation with key stakeholders, business and community representatives. The final version of the Strategy and Investment Plan will be presented to Cabinet for approval in December 2014.
In accepting the recommendations, the draft Economic Strategy and Investment Plan 2014-2024 will be approved and the final version of the Economic Strategy and Investment Plan 2014-2024, including the results of the consultation, will be presented to Cabinet for approval in December 2014. This report presented the Draft Hambleton Economic Strategy and Investment Plan 2014 - 2024, attached as Annex A to the report, and sought approval for external consultation with key stakeholders, business and community representatives. THE DECISION:
That:-

(2) the final version of the Economic Strategy and Investment Plan 2014 – 2024, including the results of the consultation, be re-presented to Cabinet in December 2014. |

THE DECISION:
That the Public Open Space, Sport and Recreation Action Plan in Annex B of the report be endorsed. |

Exclusion of the Press and Public To consider passing a resolution under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 excluding the press and public from the meeting during consideration of item 6 on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act. Minutes: THE DECISION:
That under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public were excluded from the meeting during consideration of the items of business at minute no CA.43 on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act as the Cabinet was satisfied that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighed the public interest in disclosing the information. |

Dalton Industrial Estate
This report seeks consideration of financial support for the Dalton Industrial Estate feasibility and design work. Minutes: The subject of the decision:
This report sought financial support of up to £165,000 for the Dalton Industrial Estate feasibility and design work for infrastructure improvements.

The reason for the decision:
To support the delivery of the Council’s objective to support local economic growth.
THE DECISION:
That:-
(1) an allocation of £65,000 be approved from the Economic Development Fund to complete the valuation and site investigation studies; and
(2) a capital grant be awarded to Dalton Businesses for 50% of the detailed design costs up to a maximum of £100k, subject to:-
(i) a formal agreement being in place regarding the constitution of the Dalton Businesses;
(ii) agreement by the businesses to contribute 50% of the costs of the detailed design costs; and
(iii) the results of the valuations and site investigations proving positive. |
