Health and Safety Annual Report 2018/19 PDF 153 KB Report of the Director of Environment Minutes: The Director of Environment presented the Health and Safety Annual Report which provided an update on the Council’s improvements in health and safety management during 2018/19 against the actions in the Corporate Health and Safety Plan and outlined the plan for 2019/20, a copy of which was attached as an annex to the report.
The Committee asked a number of questions regarding the Corporate Health and Safety Plan which were responded to at the meeting.
THE DECISION:
That the Health and Safety Annual Report 2018/19 and the Corporate Health and Safety Plan for 2019/20 be noted. |

Policy Review - Recycling PDF 24 KB Report of the Chairman Minutes: A report of the Chairman of the Committee was considered which reminded the Committee of the terms of reference of the review and of information which had been identified in the project plan.
Paul Staines, Director of Environment, Gary Brown, Waste and Street Scene Manager and Tracey Flint, Recycling Officer, attended the meeting to provide evidence. A number of questions were asked by the Committee which were responded to at the meeting.

The Committee was satisfied with the information provided, but considered it needed more information on issues raised and additional evidence in order to progress the review.
THE DECISION:
That:-
(1) the information provided so far be received;
(2) a visit to the Allerton Waste Recovery Park be arranged for the Committee as soon as practicable; and
(3) Paul Staines, Director of Environment and Gary Brown, Waste and Street Scene Manager be invited to attend the next meeting of the Committee on 24 October 2019.
