The subject of the decision:
This report presented the updated Environment and Leisure and Communities Directorates Enforcement Policy for consideration.
Alternative options considered:
None.
The reason for the decision:
The Directorates must have an enforcement policy to ensure that they act fairly and consistently when taking enforcement action. Failure to abide by the principles of good enforcement set out in the Regulators’ Code (April 2014) which was issued under the Legislative and Regulatory Reform Act 2006, the Code for Crown Prosecutors and the Regulatory Enforcement Sanctions Act 2008 might prejudice any enforcement action considered or taken by the Environment and Leisure and Communities Directorates.
THE DECISION:
That Cabinet approves and recommends to Council that the Environment and Leisure and Communities Directorate Enforcement Policy attached to the report be adopted.
