Report of the Chairman

Minutes:

The Director of Support Services and Deputy Chief Executive attended the meeting to provide additional information on the suggested Policy Review on The Use of Renewable Energy.  He advised the Committee that an in-depth report had been commissioned by North Energy, an energy and sustainability consultant, for the Hambleton Civic Centre, Hambleton Leisure Centre and Springboard Business Centre and that the report had been published in January 2014.

Members obtained further information on a question and answer basis and requested that a copy of the Executive Summary from the report be circulated and that a copy of the full report be made available on request.

THE DECISION:

That:-

(1)     the current mechanism for reviewing and monitoring the use of renewables be endorsed; and

(2)     Scrutiny be informed if circumstances change regarding the use of renewables.
